Hectares of lavender, the majesty of Mont Ventoux, the charm of the Lubéron and the Nesque gorges: this countryside and mountain setting is home to an unmissable place to stay. La Bastide des Bourguets has been open since 2018. La Bastide is an old 18th century farmhouse, charming and vast, renovated by its owners every winter for five years. This is how the gîtes, the exteriors and the bastide themselves have been brought up to date by Steve and Kévin to welcome their guests in refined and charming accommodation. Founders of the Bastide des Bourguets, they acquired the estate in 2017. With their experience of more than fifteen years in the luxury hotel industry, with seasons spent between Courchevel and Saint-Tropez, it is in Bora Bora, in French Polynesia, where Kévin and Steve spent five years perfecting their training.

Dinner in the company of… lavender flowers

In summer, table d’hôte dinners are prepared outside, facing the rows of lavender. And it is in this same heavenly blue setting, with their eyes gazing at an atypical panorama and an authentic fragrance, that guests can discover local dishes. All the senses are mobilized during these evenings. On the plate served by Kévin, the dishes concocted by Steve, with specific dishes from this region. La Bastide des Bourguets works with Les Saveurs du Puy Saint Martin, a company managed by Kévin’s family whose members are lavender and cereal growers. The rest of the products come from local producers.

In the heart of lavender, in the middle of the fields, at the foot of the mountains

It would take more than a few lines to describe the natural wealth that surrounds the Bastide: Mont Ventoux, hundreds of hectares of lavender fields, the scrubland, the Nesque gorges, the Lubéron Regional Natural Park, all at 700 meters of altitude in the heart of the Sault country. This incredible and varied richness of the terroir which hosts the Bastide allows the managers of the estate to welcome a varied clientele, coming from Belgium, Germany, Switzerland or even Holland to enjoy this panorama like no other. Tourists who are passionate about cycling come to cycle at Mont Ventoux. The lavender fields as far as the eye can see and the products derived from the little blue flower with their very specific scents attract a clientele curious about this heritage of the South of France. And currently, Steve and Kévin are seeing clients arrive… newlyweds, who want an intimate ceremony in the heart of the blue and sunny hectares.
